Words Are Not Enough

Lately I am at a loss for words...

Because these words have mostly been translated to strokes, and colors.

I’ve been drawing a lot these days; I draw with my palms sweaty and my mind floating; I draw until my wrist hurts and my shoulders ache; I draw until I get tired of it and until I tell myself that I’d had enough of it, only to find myself filled with creative inspiration when I rest and my uncontrollable impulse to doodle is again resurrected. It is like a mind disease, but it is something I don’t want to be cured of.

I think it is a good thing to be able to create in a different way. Sometimes words just can’t say it all that’s why we are given other media to be able to express ourselves. The other way for me is through drawing.

“It is a waste of time,” someone told me. But how can it be a waste of time if it makes you feel good?

  1. It s a pity that as we are getting older we more often hear those 'it's waste of time' words but I just think it s a waste of life to think that way. take every moment that makes u happier or even better create it for yourself. lovely work:) xx

  5. definitely not a waste of time. sometimes i wish i could draw so that when i have no words to write, i can draw. but heck, writing is the only thing for me. and i know that when you have nothing to write to put what you feel or think, it sucks.

  7. Amazing! How is drawing and improving on your skills and talent a waste of time!? Especially if you enjoy the release of creativity! I love drawing but find myself incredibly self conscious of what I put on paper. After a few years of art school I feel like I should be better than what I am and feel ashamed of making work that isn't portfolio material. I know it's crazy! But sometimes I think I just need to get creating again just for the release!

Keep up the amazing work :)

  14. Never let anyone tell you what to do with your time. If you love it you should keep it.

  15. I couldn't agree more. Oftentimes when I'm bored, sad and just really not in the mood to talk to anyone, I find myself doodling and scribbling on a piece of paper. I find something very therapeutic about it :)

  18. "Time you enjoy wasting is not time wasted."
I have a big elaborate, colorful doodle of that on a page in my notebook. I'm not a particularly great artist, but it was fun to draw, truly in the spirit of the quote.
